Abundance by way of simplicity, this to is what my wee family strives for daily. I too am a frugal homemaker, living and paying rent on an apartment, plus a mortgage on our first home that my husband has been renovating for an entire year after work and on weekends. On one income we have little money left for anything else but food. I could have went back to work after having my son three years ago, and believe me there are days when I wish I had of, but I am contributing so much more to our family by staying home. It is not easy, but it is a choice we have made; and as a woman who likes pretty things it is a constant struggle to reject the lure of commercialism and consumerism. We shop second hand, buy groceries that are marked 50% off, get movies and books from the library etc, etc. Yes we our poor fincially, but oh we are so much richer for it.
